Promoting Viet Nam’s tourism in Japan

(Hanoitourist) - In the framework of "Viet Nam Culture Days in Japan", on 12 September 2014 at Tokyo Imperial Hotel, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Viet Nam coordinated with Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Vietnam Airlines, Japan Association of Travel Agents to organize the conference with the theme "Heritage and Leisure Tourism in Viet Nam". This was an opportunity for representatives of authorities and enterprises of the two sides to exchange information and find ways to boost tourist flow between Viet Nam and Japan.

Speaking at the conference, Minister Hoang Tuan Anh emphasized Japan has always been a sustainable source market of Viet Nam. Japan has become one of the most important markets with rapid growth of tourist arrivals. In 2013, Viet Nam attracted 604,100 Japanese arrivals, increasing by 4.8% over 2012. Besides, Japan attracted 84,000 Vietnamese arrivals in 2013, increasing over 56%. In the first 8 months of 2014, Viet Nam welcomed 425,352 Japanese arrivals, increasing by 8.2% over the same period last year while the number of Vietnamese arrivals to Japan also increased by 50%.

He believed the event would contribute to boosting cooperation in culture and tourism and consolidating the strategic partnership between the two countries for peace and prosperity in Asia.

He highly valued the efforts of Japan's authorities and businesses in helping promote Viet Nam's tourism, affirming that in coming time, Viet Nam will focus on developing products, improving the quality of tourism services for Japanese arrivals to Viet Nam.
Mr. Doan Xuan Hung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan also confirmed to do his best to facilitate the promotion of culture, sports and tourism and visa issuance for Japanese nationals.
Tokyo was one of three destinations of the Viet Nam tourism roadshow in Japan, in addition to Sapporo – Hokkaido (16 September), Fukuoka (18 September).
