Ho Chi Minh City to welcome New Year with spring flower festival
Apart from various kinds of bonsai, flowers and rock sculptures on display, the festival, themed “Ho Chi Minh City - peace, prosperity, development”, will entertain visitors with art performances, folk games and a calligraphy exhibition.
According to the municipal People’s Committee, there will be about 3,000 exhibits at the festival.
Nguyen Thi Thu, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee, described the festival as part of the city’s special cultural identity and a traditional activity to welcome spring.
It also offers an opportunity for horticulturalists and artisans to engage in exchanges and showcase their works, contributing to promoting the land and people of HCM City.
Along with the festival, three major flower markets will be opened at the September 23, Gia Dinh and Le Van Tam parks, while 128 flower markets will meet in districts across the city from February 1-7.
