Binh Thuan set tasks to boost tourism development in 2014
Accordingly, the new-year tasks and targets are as follows:
- Striving to receive 3.7 million of visitors, a year-on-year increase of 5.7% (including 400 thousands turns of international visitors, rising by 5.2%; 3.3million of domestic visitors, surging by 5.8%);
- Expecting to achieve a total revenue from tourism of VND 6,000 billion, increasing by 12% against the previous year;
- Further improving investment in tourist areas because of its determining factor in tourism development;
- Creating more new and plentiful tourist products;
- Strengthening the advertisement and promotion of Binh Thuan tourism;
- Concentrating on solving problems relating to tourism environment, natural environment and social environment in tourist areas to retain friendly and safe image of Binh Thuan destination;
- Authorities of Districts, towns and city should pay attention to extricating difficulties and obstacles in site clearance and compensation in support of investment and creating favorable environment for tourism operation;
- Determining to handle with all cases of pavement encroachment, illegal construction of rental house in Ham Tien - Mui Ne area;
- Strengthening and perfecting the management board of Ham Tien – Mui Ne tourist area.
According to statistics, in 2013, Binh Thuan welcomed about 3,525 turns of visitors, an increase of 12.1% over 2012. Of these, there were 380 turns of international visitors, rising by 10.7% compared to 2012 with longer stay. Besides, last year's tourism turnover gained an estimate of VND 5,474 billion, rising by 25.2% over 2012. GDP from tourism accounted for 7.31% of the entire province's GDP. Up to now, 160 out of 227 tourist accommodations, which were put in rank order, achieve 70.48% of the total number of tourist accommodations across the province. In which, there are 03 five-star accommodations, 19 four-star accommodations, 12 three-star accommodations, 30 two-star accommodations and 32 one-star accommodations.
